This tour is no exception: Our guide Michele was eloquent, knowledgeable and funny. From history, everday life, city culture, architecture and the traditional food - he gave us a wonderful insight in the city of Bari!

A must do trip, early in your stay in Bari This is a 'must do' excursion as early as you can after arriving in Bari. Our guide Adriano was superb. We now know where to go back to, to spend more time exploring, and where to eat and drink like locals. Navigating the old town is tricky as there are dozens of narrow streets and alleys. We got to see the hidden gens like the one of the local women making the Barese pasta called Orrechiette. There's also an interactive history lesson!

Dynamic tour of a beautiful old town Fabrizio made this one of the best free walking tours experiences I have had in Europe. He delivers the information at a great pace and finds ways to make the history interactive, rather than rattling off dates and names. Seriously, this tour could have gone for another hour and I wouldn't have complained.

Being a local, he clearly has a great knowledge of - and relationship with - Bari. You get all the historical stuff, plus a lot of myths and legends about the old city and fantastic tips for modern Bari.

There are no toilets near the start of the walk but around halfway there's an opportunity to stop for the toilet and buy some water, coffee, etc.

He speaks english fluently so there were no problems with understanding. He was also eager to answer a lot of extra questions so do not hesitate to ask one!

Great experience We had a two hour walk starting from the old town to Murat. Our guide Fabrizio gave an enthusiastic presentation not only of the historical facts and sights but also about the barese spirit and life style. Meeting the guy that is the ice dealer for the whole town (there is actually an ice dealer, yes) and the lady making orecchiette pasta on the street is something you hardly find on your own and cannot simply google out. While Fabrizio was talking about how orecchiette are served a couple of old ladies started to shout their best recepies from their window - it's just priceless. After having around 20 free walking tours around the world that was probably one of the most authentic, enthusiastic, relaxed and friendly walks ever. Fabrizio was kindly providing good advices for foodies and the things to do, not only in the town but also in the rest of Puglia region.

I've joined “The Jungle” Free Walking Tour, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bari. On the tour you can learn about the touristic part of the and get lots of recommendations, like bakeries and bars where locals go.

Michele is an excellent guide, knowledgeable and enthusiastic of showing the beauty of his city, Bari. The tour takes about 2h, walking though the old and new city and explaining all the historical and cultural facts. Highly recommended as an orientation tour as soon as you arrive in the city! Fascinating tour with Michele this morning. Brought the history and present of Bari alive really quickly. A lovely and unique city and the perfect way to see it. A great business model too, curiously and satisfyingly rooted in the Barese culture of independence and resistance to whatever prevailing authority has happened to attempt to impose itself on the city (and there have been a few!).

Anna was our tour guide for the free tour of Bari, and she was fantastic. This was a wonderful introduction to Bari, and Anna was great at engaging the group, offering nuggets of information I would never have known, and I left with a much better appreciation and understanding of the city. I highly recommend this tour, and a friendly reminder to all fellow travellers that though the tour is free to bring some cash to tip your guide- they’re SO worth it!
